COLT Signs European Distribution Deal With Scala Agenturen

SAN FRANCISCO — COLT Studio Group has signed an exclusive deal with Dutch distributor Scala Agenturen, the wholesale arm of European adult retail giant Beate Uhse, to supply the European market with the gay adult company's product lines.

Scala is one of the largest European wholesalers of adult products and the entire line of COLT DVDs and products, and Scala's Serge van der Hooft said the company plans to create a COLT Corner "one-stop-shop" for retailers and distributors across Europe.

COLT President John Rutherford said he's done business with Scala for several years and feels Scala offers his company a business plan that no other European distributor could.

"I have complete confidence in [van der Hooft's team's] successful long-term relationships and distribution channels that no other distributor in Europe can compare to," Rutherford said. "It's a perfect home for out high-quality and pinnacle brands."

COLT Chief Financial Officer Tom Settle said Scala is a perfect fit with COLT's business ethic, and that the two companies share similar ideas and goals for future development.

Van def Hooft said he is glad to have found a partner that will further build Scala's reputation for providing quality product and marketing strategies for the gay market.

"With Rutherford, Settle and their team at COLT Studio Group, we found wonderful and successful partners who know how to produce one of the all-male industry's widest assortments and pinnacle product lines," van der Hooft said.

Scala will begin COLT distribution with the studio's three most recent DVD titles: "Waterbucks 2," "BIG RIG: Extended Cab" and "Muscle Ranch II."
