LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures today announced the release of acclaimed director Brad Armstrong's “Carnal” online and on DVD.
Starring Wicked Girl jessica drake, the veteran filmmaker's second production of 2018 is a 2 1/2 hour fantasia co-starring Mercedes Carrera, Kaylani Lei, Angela White, Natassia Dreams, Lily Lane, Sean Michaels and many more.
drake told XBIZ she saw the new film as a natural extension of ideas she initially explored in Armstrong's “jessica drake is Wicked,” including working with trans women.
“It was two or three years in the making. And when I was finally able to do that [in last year’s jessica drake is Wicked] it was both a big deal and not such a big deal. I loved it. There was conversation initially within the company, like, ‘Do we just put this on the internet version and not include it on the DVD? Do we put it on the DVD with a disclaimer?’ Obviously I was against that, because why are you gonna tell somebody how to feel about something before they see it? I wanted people to buy the showcase movie because it was reflective of my work as a performer and then see things in it that they might not watch otherwise. I think that this movie is sort of a continuation of that; it’s more of my dreams and my fantasies and things that I wanna do and an expression of my sexuality.”

In addition to drake, Armstrong, and Michaels, the diverse cast includes trans star Natassia Dreams, Lily Lane, Karma RX, Angela White, Tommy Gunn, Ryan Driller, Small Hands, Mercedes Carrera, Eric Masterson, Tia Kai, Nyomi Star, Kaylani Lei, Marica Hase, Ana Foxxx, and Ember Snow.
As part of the “Carnal” promotional roll-out, Wicked is celebrating diversity with the #CarnallyInclusive social media campaign. Beginning today and running 18 consecutive weekdays, each performer in the cast will receive a day of online tribute, including exclusive safe-for-work photo content from their scene in the movie. And once each day, the film's safe-for-work trailer will be released on Twitter.
"From Hall of Fame veterans to those who've never shot for Wicked before, everyone will be treated as the first among equals," said media liaison Daniel Metcalf. "We were honored to have such an incredible and diverse cast, and we look forward to spending the month of August giving each performer the spotlight they deserve. A report published by UCLA's Ralph Bunche Center, Flipping The Script, makes an inspirational point: 'America’s increasingly diverse audiences prefer diverse content created with the input of diverse talent.'"
“My passion comes from personal experience,” drake said. “From the idea we are all connected.”
