LOS ANGELES — Ron Jeremy has been charged today by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office with the sexual assault of four women, identified as Jane Does, allegedly for four separate incidents in 2014, 2017 and 2019.
The charges against the veteran adult performer were announced this morning by Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey via a press release.
The eight counts in the complaint are "forcible oral copulation" and "forcible rape" (two separate charges) on or about May 21, 2014 against a Jane Doe #1; "forcible rape" and "sexual battery by restraint" (two separate charges) on or about March 11, 2017 against a Jane Doe #2; two charges of "sexual penetration by use of force" and one of "sexual penetration by intoxicating substance" (three separate charges) on September 10, 2017 against a Jane Doe #3; and one charge of "forcible rape" on July 15, 2019 against a Jane Doe #4.
The case was filed for warrant yesterday, and Jeremy’s arraignment was scheduled for this afternoon.
Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson of the Sex Crimes Division is prosecuting the case.
The Charges
In May 2014, according to the DA office’s statement, “the defendant is accused of forcibly raping a 25-year-old woman at a home in West Hollywood.”
Jeremy also “allegedly sexually assaulted two women, ages 33 and 46, on separate occasions at a West Hollywood bar in 2017.”
The DA office also accuses Jeremy “of forcibly raping a 30-year-old woman at the same bar in July 2019.”
A fifth incident, from 2016, is not being pursued by the DA office “due to insufficient evidence.”
Prosecutors have asked for $6.6 million bail. If convicted as charged, the DA’s press release states, “the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 90 years to life in state prison.”
The case is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
XBIZ has attempted to contact Jeremy but received no reply as of noon today.
At 1:12 PM, Jeremy tweeted from his account, "I am innocent of all charges. I can’t wait to prove my innocence in court! Thank you to everyone for all the support."
