CENTURY CITY, Calif. — Liz Flynt has released her new retrospective book, “Hustler: 50 Years of Freedom.”
Published by Radius Book Group, the 208-page book features a foreword by Woody Harrelson; articles on President Jimmy Carter, Gore Vidal, Grace Jones, Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho, Oliver Stone, John F. Kennedy Jr., Harvey Fierstein, Mötley Crüe, and Seth MacFarlane; photography by Dennis Hopper and Anna Nicole Smith; and early appearances by Ginger Lynn, Jenna Jameson, Stormy Daniels, and Tera Patrick, among other features.
“Designed as a visual and editorial chronicle, the book features a curated selection of Hustler’s most iconic covers, photography, cartoons, and editorials from 1974 to 2024,” said a rep. “Alongside the imagery are original articles, photo spreads, cartoons, and illustrations created over the years by guest writers, longtime staff, photographers, and artists whose work helped define Hustler’s voice and legacy.
“The book traces Hustler’s role in historic First Amendment legal battles — including Flynt v. Falwell — and examines how the magazine challenged social norms around race, gender, and sexuality in mainstream media,” the rep added. “While the book draws heavily from Larry Flynt’s original vision to speak freely, question authority, and confront hypocrisy, it also reflects Liz Flynt’s influence in preserving that legacy.”
Added Flynt, “This book is a celebration of everything Hustler has stood for over the last 50 years. It’s also a thank you to the writers, artists, and readers who made that possible.”
Additionally, Flynt has announced a national book tour to promote the launch.
