Yale University Hosts Sex Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Bastion of the Ivy League, Yale University, will host Sex Week at Yale (SWAY), a bi-annual event will explore areas of sex, romance, relationships and other issues related to human sexuality.

According to event organizers, though Yale is “populated by some of the brightest young men and women on the planet, many students still haven’t figured out how to ask someone on a date. Others might even believe that coitus interruptus is a form of safe sex. This February, however, Sex Week at Yale comes to the rescue.”

The event is scheduled for Feb. 11-18.

An entire day from the event schedule has been dedicated at adult production company Vivid. Founder Steven Hirsch, legendary director Paul Thomas and Vivid contract performers Monique Alexander and Savanna Samson are to be honored guests on Feb. 16, during Vivid Day.

Hirsch will speak about Vivid’s contribution to the mainstreaming of adult video, and Alexander and Samson will participate in a Q&A panel discussion.

Comedian Stevie Jay, of VH1’s “The Pick-Up Artist” reality show, will kick off the week’s events with a stand-up performance titled, “Life, Love, Sex, Death and Other Works in Progress ….”

Other celebrities slated to appear include sex/relationship experts Dr. Ruth Westheimer and Pepper Schwartz, who will speak to attendees on Feb. 11.

Sex/relationship experts Dr. Susan Block, Logan Levkoff, Glenn Geher, Scott Barry Kaufman, Dawn Eden, Dr. Helen Fisher and Dr. Susan Kuriansky will also speak at various seminars.

On Friday, Feb. 15, a lingerie fashion show to benefit HIV/Aids charities will be presented, followed with an appearance by iconic adult performer Ron Jeremy, who will debate founder of anti-pornography organization XXX Church Craig Gross.

Adult retailer Pure Romance will sponsor the SWAY event, and Pure Romance CEO Patty Brisben will host a seminar and a Girls’ Night Out party on Feb. 12.

In addition to putting on the event, SWAY organizers will also produce a documentary film about the event.
